FRIT 7739 Week 2

What a busy week here at school! Yesterday, the county [pleasantly] surprised us and brought us our devices one week early! Our school is a 1 to 1 technology school; therefore, every teacher and student in the school has their own Microsoft Surface. We only had the devices for a few months last year before school dismissed for summer, so teachers and students were anxiously awaiting their arrival back in the classroom. The devices were delivered yesterday and after a two hour meeting, our Assistant Principal, METI, IT, and myself were able to come up with a definitive game plan for device distribution. However, before the fun stuff (device distribution) can actually happen, we must do the not so fun part: inventory and unpacking. With the help of Glad Tech students (our school's student tech support organization) and IT, we were able to count and unpack 2,051 devices, pens, and chargers. I must admit, I didn't realize so much manual labor went into this side of the job. My muscles are a bit sore, but I am so happy with how much we accomplished today. Attached are a few photos of our storage room and where we worked all day today.
